How Much Does a Facebook Ads Agency Cost per Month?
The short answer
Published Facebook ads agency prices checked on October 26, 2026 start at about $500 a month (LYFE Marketing's image-ads plan) and reach $2,000 to $3,500 or more at agencies that only take budgets above $5,000 a month; percentage pricing is usually quoted at 10 to 20 percent of ad spend. That fee comes on top of the ad budget you pay Meta, plus creative, any setup fee and, since July 1, 2026, a 2 to 5 percent Meta location fee on ads shown in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Austria and Türkiye.
How much does a Facebook ads agency charge per month?
A Facebook ads agency charges a monthly management fee on top of the ad budget you pay Meta. Prices published on agency websites and checked on October 26, 2026 start at about $500 a month and reach $2,000 to $3,500 or more at agencies that only take larger budgets. Agencies that price by spend usually quote 10 to 20 percent of it.
Every figure below is the named firm's own published price, linked to its page. None is a 1920 Agency price. The same agency fees cover Instagram, because both run through Meta's Ads Manager.
| Provider (market) | Published price | What it is tied to |
|---|---|---|
| DashClicks (US, white-label, sold to agencies; page dated October 22, 2024) | $299, $399 or $499 a month, plus a $199 setup fee | Monthly ad spend: up to $2,500, $2,500 to $5,000, over $5,000 |
| LYFE Marketing (US) | $500 (image ads), $800 (video ads), $1,400 (image and video) a month | Creative type; spend limits not stated |
| Stackmatix (US) | From $2,000 a month; from $3,500 a month; custom | Ad spend of $5,000 to $15,000, $15,000 to $50,000, over $50,000 |
| Luxbranding (UK) | £199, £299 or £499 a month, no percentage of spend | Ad spend up to £5,000, up to £15,000, above £15,000 |
| Digital Hitmen (Perth, Australia) | From $750 a month | Recommends at least $1,000 a month of ad spend |
| Softvirtue (Pakistan) | From PKR 35,000 a month, three-month minimum | Advises no less than PKR 45,000 a month of ad spend |
DashClicks is a white-label service: agencies buy its fulfilment and resell it under their own name. Its price shows what campaign management can cost an agency wholesale. When a retail quote is several times higher, ask what the extra pays for: strategy, creative, tracking, and the person you actually speak to.
The three ways agencies price Meta ads
Facebook ads agencies charge a flat monthly fee, a percentage of ad spend, or a base fee plus a percentage. Some also tie the flat fee to spend bands, as DashClicks, Stackmatix and Luxbranding do above. Performance pricing, paid per lead or sale, exists but is rarely published.
Here is what each model costs at four spend levels. This is our arithmetic on the published prices above, in US dollars:
| Monthly ad spend | 10% of spend | 15% of spend | 20% of spend | LYFE Marketing (flat) | Stackmatix (from) | DashClicks wholesale |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $2,000 | $200 | $300 | $400 | $500 to $1,400 | Not offered | $299 |
| $4,000 | $400 | $600 | $800 | $500 to $1,400 | Not offered | $399 |
| $10,000 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,000 | $500 to $1,400 | $2,000 | $499 |
| $25,000 | $2,500 | $3,750 | $5,000 | $500 to $1,400 | $3,500 | $499 |
Two things follow. At $2,000 of spend, 10 percent is $200 a month, about an hour and a half of work at the $136.69 US average hourly rate in Credo's survey, so percentage agencies usually add a minimum fee. At $25,000, 15 percent is $3,750 a month, more than Stackmatix's published starting fee for that band, and the fee keeps rising with spend even when the work does not. Whatever the model, ask whether the fee has a floor and a cap.
Where the "industry data" on agency pricing comes from
Most 2026 pricing guides quote survey figures without naming the survey. The figures trace back to one source: Credo's digital marketing pricing survey. Its Facebook ads page was last updated on June 28, 2022 and does not state when the answers were collected.
Credo's demographics page reports 507 respondents, 62.25 percent of them in the US. It says the sample skews toward experienced, higher-priced agencies and that 500 responses are not enough for statistical significance. That is useful context, but it is not 2026 data.
What the survey actually says about social ads providers:
- "59% of social ads providers charge between $100-$200 per hour." The US average for Facebook ads agencies was $136.69 an hour.
- 39.02 percent had a retainer minimum of $1,000 to $3,000 a month, and only 5.15 percent had no minimum.
- 23.93 percent had no minimum contract length, and 30.49 percent asked for 6 to 12 months.
- 51.8 percent offered flat-fee billing. Only 11.8 percent offered a percentage of spend as a billing option.
The last point matters. Many guides say most agencies charge 10 to 20 percent of spend, but in the only survey anyone cites, flat fees were far more common. Credo's own worked example is the source of the "$38,000 a year" agency figure that also circulates: $2,000 to $2,500 a month for copy and creative, 10 to 15 percent of spend over $10,000, and an onboarding fee of about $2,000, on $15,000 a month of ad spend.
What you pay on top of the agency fee
The agency fee is never the whole bill. You also pay the ad budget, any location fees and taxes Meta adds, the creative, and often a setup fee.
| Cost | Who bills it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Ad spend | Meta, to the payment method on your ad account | That Meta bills you directly; if the agency re-bills spend, ask for Meta's invoice |
| Location fee | Meta, on ads shown in six countries since July 1, 2026 | Where your audience is, not where you are |
| VAT, GST or sales tax | Meta, depending on your country and whether you buy for business | Your tax status in the ad account |
| Creative (images, video) | The agency or a separate producer | How many new ads a month are included |
| Setup or onboarding | The agency | DashClicks lists $199; Credo's example assumes about $2,000 |
Meta's location fees since July 2026
Since July 1, 2026, Meta adds a location fee to ads delivered to people in six countries, to cover digital services taxes. Reuters reported the rates from Meta's announcement: 2 percent in the United Kingdom, 3 percent in France, Italy and Spain, and 5 percent in Austria and Türkiye. The fee depends on where the audience is, not where the advertiser is based, and covers WhatsApp click-to-message campaigns too.
So a US or Pakistani business advertising to UK customers pays the UK fee, and $5,000 of ads shown in the UK carries a $100 fee. None of the four 2026 agency pricing guides we checked for this article mentions it. Meta's location fees page holds the current list, which Meta says can change; it did not load for our fetch on October 26, so check it there before you budget.
How much ad budget does an agency need to work with?
An agency needs enough budget for Meta's delivery system to learn. Meta says an ad set is "Learning limited" when it is unlikely to get around 50 optimization events in the week after its last significant edit. Multiply 50 by what one lead costs and you get the weekly budget for one ad set to learn quickly.
Using LocaliQ's 2026 Facebook benchmarks for lead campaigns (updated September 23, 2026), this is our arithmetic:
| Industry | Average cost per lead | 50 leads a week | About a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Real Estate | $13.74 | $687 | $2,980 |
| Health & Fitness | $27.11 | $1,356 | $5,870 |
| All industries | $27.39 | $1,370 | $5,930 |
| Home & Home Improvement | $42.95 | $2,148 | $9,310 |
| Beauty & Personal Care | $50.91 | $2,546 | $11,030 |
| Dentists & Dental Services | $61.56 | $3,078 | $13,340 |
Many small budgets are below this, and that is workable: the ad set learns more slowly and should be judged over weeks, not days. It does change what you need from an agency. On $1,000 a month at $27.39 a lead, you buy about 36 leads a month. If the fee is half your ad spend or more, a smaller flat-fee provider, or one well-built campaign you run yourself, may serve you better until the budget grows. Our Meta vs Google ads guide works through the same rule for both platforms.
What makes a Facebook ads agency cost more
The price rises with the amount of work, not the size of the business. The biggest factors are how much new creative you need, how many campaigns and markets run, and how much tracking and lead handling has to be built.
| Factor | Why it moves the price | Published example |
|---|---|---|
| Creative volume and type | Video costs more to make than images, and Meta ads need fresh creative often | LYFE: $500 image ads, $800 video, $1,400 both |
| Ad spend band | More spend means more campaigns to watch and test | DashClicks: $299 to $499; Luxbranding: £199 to £499 |
| Campaigns, countries and languages | Each needs its own audiences, ads and reporting | Not priced separately by the firms we checked |
| Tracking | Pixel and Conversions API set up so Meta optimizes for real leads or sales | Luxbranding lists pixel and Conversions API setup inside its fee |
| Lead handling | Leads must reach a CRM or inbox in minutes | Softvirtue says it connects lead forms to your CRM or WhatsApp alerts; the other plans above don't mention it |
| Restricted categories | Housing, employment and credit ads have narrower targeting | See the targeting limits |
Lead handling is where cheap plans leave the most out. A lead ad that sends forms nowhere wastes the fee and the spend. Our guide to automating lead follow-up shows how Meta lead forms connect to a CRM.
Agency, freelancer or in-house?
An agency costs the most per month, a freelancer less, and in-house nothing in fees but a lot in staff time. Credo's 2022 survey put US Facebook ads agencies at $136.69 an hour on average. For in-house, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics puts median pay for market research analysts and marketing specialists at $78,760 a year ($37.87 an hour, May 2025), before benefits. That broad category is not specific to ad buyers.
- In-house suits a business that already makes creative every week and has someone who can read Ads Manager.
- A freelancer suits one campaign on one platform where you supply the creative.
- An agency suits accounts that need creative, tracking, testing and reporting from more than one person.
Who owns the ad account?
You should own the ad account, and the agency should work in it through partner access. Meta lets you give a partner access to assets in your business portfolio. It also says an ad account created in one business portfolio cannot be transferred to another business's portfolio.
If the agency creates the account in its own portfolio, your campaign history, audiences and pixel data stay with the agency when you leave. Ask before you sign. If an agency claims a Meta badge, check the Meta Business Partners directory, which lists badged companies.
Red flags in a Facebook ads quote
The warning signs are a price before anyone has seen your account, ads run in the agency's account, campaigns set to buy clicks instead of sales, and promises nobody can keep.
- A price before an audit. A quote set before anyone checks your tracking, offer and past results is a guess.
- The account sits in the agency's portfolio. You cannot take it with you.
- A sales or lead campaign optimized for clicks or traffic. Meta finds people who click, not people who buy. Check the objective and the optimization event yourself.
- Guaranteed results or a fixed return on ad spend. No one controls the auction, your margin or your follow-up.
- Spend billed through the agency with no Meta invoice. You cannot see the markup.
- A long contract with no exit terms. Credo's 2022 data shows about a quarter of providers asked for no minimum term at all.
How to compare Facebook ads agency quotes
Put every quote on the same scope, then compare the first year's total: fee, setup, creative and a realistic ad budget. Ask each agency:
- What exactly does the fee include: campaigns, new ads a month, reporting, calls?
- Who makes the creative, and how many new ads do I get each month?
- Is the ad account in my business portfolio, with partner access for you?
- Does Meta bill me directly, and is there any markup on spend?
- Which objective and optimization event will each campaign use?
- How will leads reach my team, and how fast?
- What is the minimum term, and how do I leave?
The cheapest fee often has the most blanks in these answers. We use the same method for automation agency quotes: equal scope first, price second.
How 1920 Agency prices Meta ads
1920 Agency does not publish prices for Meta ads. We review the ad account, tracking, offer and creative needs first, then quote a monthly fee for the scope agreed. Meta bills your ad budget to you directly, and the ad account stays in your business portfolio with partner access for us.
If your campaigns bring clicks but not sales, or you are starting from zero, that is what our online ads management is set up to fix. For the footwear brand Muzaree, we run Meta ads on the Sales objective, optimizing for purchases rather than clicks, and read every campaign back from Meta before it goes live; the Muzaree case study shows the store behind them. We are an independent agency based in Islamabad, Pakistan, working with clients in the US, UK, Australia and Pakistan.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Facebook ads agency charge per month?
Published prices checked on October 26, 2026 run from $500 a month (LYFE Marketing's image-ads plan) to $1,400 for image and video ads, and from $2,000 or $3,500 a month at Stackmatix, which takes budgets of $5,000 a month and up. Agencies that charge a percentage usually quote 10 to 20 percent of ad spend. The ad budget itself is paid to Meta on top.
Is $1,000 enough to hire a Facebook ads agency?
As a fee, $1,000 a month covers the entry plan at several agencies that publish prices, such as LYFE Marketing ($500) and Digital Hitmen (from $750), but you also need ad budget. At LocaliQ's 2026 average of $27.39 a lead, $1,000 of spend buys about 36 leads a month. If the agency fee is half your ad spend or more, consider a smaller flat-fee provider or running a simple campaign yourself until the budget grows.
What is the difference between the agency fee and ad spend?
Ad spend is what Meta charges to show your ads, billed by Meta to the payment method on your ad account. The agency fee pays for the people who plan, build, test and report on the campaigns. Ask every agency to quote the two separately, and to say whether Meta bills you directly or the agency re-bills the spend.
Should I choose percentage-of-spend or flat-fee pricing?
Flat fees are easier to budget and do not rise when you raise spend, so they usually suit small and growing budgets. A percentage fee scales with the work at high spend but grows even when the work does not. In Credo's survey, last updated in 2022, 51.8 percent of social ads agencies offered flat-fee billing and only 11.8 percent offered a percentage of spend as a billing option.
How long should I commit to a Facebook ads agency?
Ask for month-to-month terms, or a short first term with a written exit clause. Credo's 2022 survey found 23.93 percent of social ads providers had no minimum contract length and 30.49 percent asked for 6 to 12 months, so a long lock-in is common but not the rule.
Who should own the Facebook ad account when I hire an agency?
You should. Create the ad account in your own Meta business portfolio and give the agency partner access. Meta says an ad account created in a business portfolio cannot be transferred to another business's portfolio, so an account the agency creates in its own portfolio stays with the agency when you leave.
Is it cheaper to hire a freelancer or run Facebook ads in-house?
Usually per month, yes. A freelancer often charges less than an agency, and in-house has no fee but costs staff time: the US Bureau of Labor Statistics puts median pay for marketing specialists at $78,760 a year (May 2025). An agency makes sense when you need creative, tracking and testing that one person cannot cover.
Does 1920 Agency publish prices for Meta ads management?
No. 1920 Agency quotes after reviewing your ad account, offer, tracking and creative needs. The ad budget is billed to you by Meta directly, and the ad account stays in your business portfolio.
