How Much Does Google Ads Management Cost per Month?
The short answer
Google Ads management prices published by agencies and checked on October 26, 2026 start at about $500 a month in the US (Third Marble charges $499 plus 5 percent of ad spend) and run to $2,000 a month or more for larger accounts; cost guides that price by spend quote 10 to 20 percent of it. The fee is separate from the ad budget you pay Google, and Google's own policy says an agency must disclose its fee in writing and report Google's costs without it.
How much does Google Ads management cost per month?
Google Ads management costs a monthly fee on top of the ad budget you pay Google. Prices published on agency websites and checked on October 26, 2026 start at about $500 a month in the US for budgets up to $20,000, and at $2,000 a month for larger accounts. The cost guides that rank for this question quote 10 to 20 percent of ad spend for agencies that charge by spend.
Every figure below is the named firm's own published price, linked to its page. None is a 1920 Agency price.
| Provider (market) | Published price | What it is tied to |
|---|---|---|
| DashClicks (US, white-label, sold to agencies; page dated October 22, 2024) | $299, $399 or $499 a month, plus a $199 setup fee | Monthly ad spend: up to $2,500, $2,500 to $5,000, over $5,000 |
| Third Marble (US) | $499 a month plus 5% of the click budget; from $2,000 a month; $399 onboarding | Spend of $1,000 to $20,000 a month; up to $50,000 a month |
| DPOM (UK) | From £145 a month plus VAT; a setup fee can apply | Monthly rolling, 31 days' notice |
| Websites That Sell (Brisbane, Australia) | From $495 plus GST a month | Ad budget paid to Google separately |
| Softvirtue (Pakistan) | From PKR 35,000 a month, three-month minimum | Recommends PKR 20,000 to 30,000 a month of ad spend; no markup on spend |
DashClicks sells its fulfilment to agencies, which resell it under their own names, so its price shows what campaign management can cost an agency wholesale. When a retail quote is several times higher, ask what the difference pays for: strategy, landing pages, tracking, and the person you actually speak to.
How agencies price Google Ads management
Agencies charge a flat monthly fee, a percentage of ad spend, a base fee plus a percentage, or an hourly rate for audits and consulting. Many flat fees are tied to spend bands, as DashClicks does. Third Marble's Growth plan is a hybrid: $499 plus 5 percent of the click budget.
Here is what each model costs at four spend levels. This is our arithmetic on the published prices, in US dollars:
| Monthly ad spend | 10% of spend | 15% of spend | 20% of spend | Third Marble Growth ($499 + 5%) | DashClicks wholesale | Credo's "most common" model |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $1,500 | $150 | $225 | $300 | $574 | $299 | $1,000 to $2,000 |
| $5,000 | $500 | $750 | $1,000 | $749 | $399 | $1,000 to $2,000 |
| $10,000 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,000 | $999 | $499 | $1,000 to $2,000 |
| $20,000 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4,000 | $1,499 | $499 | $2,500 to $3,500 |
Credo's model is $1,000 to $2,000 a month for one channel plus 15 percent of spend above $10,000. Two things follow from the table. At $1,500 of spend, 10 percent is $150, about one hour at the $151.88 US average hourly rate in Credo's survey, so percentage agencies usually set a minimum fee. At $20,000, a 20 percent fee is $4,000 a month, more than twice the hybrid price, for the same account. Whatever the model, ask for the minimum and the cap in writing.
Where the "average" price ranges come from
The ranges in most 2026 cost guides have no source. The pages we checked for this article state tiers, such as $500 to $1,500 a month for most small businesses or $1,000 to $3,000 for mid-tier agencies, as market fact, and none names the data behind them. Several contradict themselves: one gives freelancers $300 to $600 a month in its summary and $300 to $700 in its table.
The only survey that anyone cites is Credo's PPC pricing page, last updated on June 28, 2022. It does not state when the answers were collected or how many PPC firms answered. What it reports:
- 50.97 percent of PPC firms had a retainer minimum of $1,000 to $3,000 a month, and 26 percent had one under $1,000.
- 30.52 percent required a minimum engagement of 6 to 12 months, and 26.3 percent had no minimum contract length.
- Credo describes the most common agency pricing as $1,000 to $2,000 a month for one channel, $500 to $750 for each extra channel, a setup fee of $1,000 to $2,500, and 15 percent on spend above $10,000.
- Its worked example, $15,000 a month across Google and Bing, comes to about $33,000 a year in fees.
Even Credo's pages disagree with each other: the pricing page says 85 percent of PPC firms charge $50 to $200 an hour, and its rates page says 84.74 percent charge $50 to $150. Treat any "average" as a rough guide from 2022 and compare real quotes instead.
What Google requires of agencies that manage your ads
Google sets rules for agencies that manage Google Ads for clients, and several cover the fee. Under Google's transparency requirements for third parties:
- An agency that charges a management fee, separate from the cost of Google Ads, must tell new customers in writing before each first purchase and show the fee on every invoice.
- When it shares cost data, it must report the exact amount Google charged, excluding its own fees.
- Monthly reports, where required, must include costs, clicks and impressions at the Google Ads account level. Letting you sign in to the account yourself also meets the requirement.
- An agency where 80 percent or more of customers spend under $1,000 a month must share Google's advertiser guide to working with third parties with every customer.
Google's third-party policy also says agencies should be "honest and transparent about your company, services, associated costs, and expected results". Most of the cost guides we checked warn about hidden costs, and none mentions that Google already requires the fee to be disclosed. If a quote bundles fee and ad spend into one number, ask for the split. Google's rules say you should get it.
What you pay on top of the management fee
The management fee is never the whole bill. You also pay the ad budget, any surcharges Google adds by country, setup, and often landing page or tracking work.
| Cost | Who bills it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Ad spend | Google, to the payment method on your account | That Google bills you directly, or that the agency shows Google's exact cost |
| Overdelivery | Google, within limits | A campaign can spend up to twice its average daily budget on one day, and no more than 30.4 times it in a month |
| Country surcharges | Google, by where the ad is served | The table below |
| Setup or onboarding | The agency | Third Marble lists $399; DashClicks $199; Credo's survey $1,000 to $2,500 |
| Landing pages and tracking | The agency or your web developer | Whether conversion and call tracking setup is in the fee |
The overdelivery rule comes from Google's average daily budget page. It is why your bill can vary day to day while the monthly total stays within 30.4 times the daily budget.
Google's country surcharges
Google adds a surcharge to ads served in some countries, "regardless of where your actual business is located". These are the rates on Google's jurisdiction-specific surcharges page, checked on October 26, 2026:
| Where the ad is served | Rate now | Change Google lists |
|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | 2% | None |
| Austria | 5% | None |
| Spain | 3% | None |
| France | 2% | 3% from January 1, 2027 |
| Italy | 2.5% | 3% from January 1, 2027 |
| Türkiye | 4.5% | 2.5% from January 1, 2027 |
So a US business advertising to UK customers pays the UK surcharge: $5,000 of ads served in the UK carries a $100 charge. India's and Canada's surcharges no longer apply, according to the same page. Meta started similar location fees on July 1, 2026, so check both if you advertise in Europe on both platforms.
How much ad budget does an agency need to work with?
An agency needs enough conversions to judge whether the account is working. Google's Smart Bidding guidance is to measure performance over periods with at least 30 conversions, such as a month or longer, and 50 for Target ROAS. Multiply 30 by your cost per lead and you get the monthly budget for a clear read.
Using LocaliQ's 2026 search advertising benchmarks (updated June 1, 2026; LocaliQ and WordStream customers' Google Ads and Microsoft Ads campaigns), this is our arithmetic:
| Industry | Average cost per click | Average cost per lead | 30 leads a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Automotive repair, service and parts | $4.35 | $29.96 | $899 |
| Beauty and personal care | $4.62 | $39.25 | $1,178 |
| All industries | $5.42 | $66.69 | $2,001 |
| Dentists and dental services | $8.00 | $72.97 | $2,189 |
| Home and home improvement | $8.33 | $90.92 | $2,728 |
| Real estate | $3.22 | $102.51 | $3,075 |
| Attorneys and legal services | $9.87 | $131.63 | $3,949 |
Smaller budgets can work, but each month tells you less, so judge them over a longer period. The budget also changes the value of the fee: on $1,000 a month of spend, a $500 fee is half your ad budget. Our Meta vs Google ads guide works through the same rule for both platforms.
What a Google Ads management fee should include
A management fee should pay for the work that turns clicks into leads or sales, not only for campaign setup. Before you compare prices, check that each quote covers:
- Conversion tracking for forms, calls and purchases, so Google bids for results rather than clicks. Our guide explains what tracking each platform needs.
- Keyword and search terms work: reviewing the searches that triggered your ads, adding negative keywords and cutting waste.
- Ads and landing pages that match each group of searches. Third Marble's plans include a landing page audit, and Softvirtue's page lists landing page building or optimization.
- Bidding and budget changes made against your cost per lead or sale.
- Reporting you can check against the Google Ads account, plus a named person who explains it.
If your campaigns already bring clicks but few calls or forms, that is the problem our online ads management is set up to fix: tracking first, then campaigns that pay for the result you want. Leads also need a fast reply, and our guide to automating lead follow-up covers connecting Google and Meta lead forms to a CRM.
Agency, freelancer or in-house?
An agency costs the most per month, a freelancer usually less, and in-house nothing in fees but a salary. Credo's 2022 survey put US PPC agencies at $151.88 an hour on average. For in-house, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics puts median pay for market research analysts and marketing specialists at $78,760 a year ($37.87 an hour, May 2025), before benefits; that broad category is not specific to Google Ads managers.
- In-house suits a business with enough spend to keep one person busy and someone senior to check the work.
- A freelancer suits one or two search campaigns where you already have a good landing page.
- An agency suits accounts that need tracking, landing pages, several campaign types and reporting from more than one person.
Who should own the Google Ads account?
You should own the Google Ads account and the payments profile, and the agency should manage it through its manager account. In Google's access levels, only Admin users can give access, change access levels and unlink manager accounts. Google's manager accounts page says users with administrative access to a client account can end the link to the manager account at any time.
If the agency creates the account in its own name and keeps you off Admin, your campaign history, conversion data and audiences are hard to take with you when you leave. Ask for Admin access before you sign.
What a "Google Partner" badge means
A Google Partner badge says the agency meets Google's thresholds across all the accounts it manages, not that it will do well on yours. Google's Partner requirements are a 90-day ad spend of $10,000 across managed accounts, an optimization score of at least 70 percent on the agency's manager account, and Google Ads certifications for at least half of its account strategists.
The same page says partners can apply or dismiss Google's recommendations based on their own assessment, so the score threshold does not force an agency to accept every suggestion in your account. A badge is a reasonable minimum, but ask about results on accounts like yours, and ask for the agency's listing in Google's Partners directory.
Red flags in a Google Ads quote
The warning signs are a price before anyone has seen your account, a fee you cannot see, and an account you will not own.
- One number for fee and ad spend. Google's rules say the fee must be disclosed and costs reported without it.
- No Admin access for you. You cannot take the account with you.
- A lead or sales campaign with no conversion tracking. Google then optimizes for clicks, not customers.
- Guaranteed top positions, clicks or return on ad spend. Nobody controls the auction, your margin or your follow-up.
- A long contract with no exit terms. In Credo's 2022 survey, 26.3 percent of PPC firms had no minimum term, and Third Marble and DPOM both publish monthly terms.
The cheapest fee often has the most gaps. We use the same method for Facebook ads agency quotes: equal scope first, price second.
How 1920 Agency prices Google Ads
1920 Agency does not publish prices for Google Ads management. We review the account, conversion tracking, landing pages and goals first, then quote a monthly fee for the agreed scope, shown separately from your ad budget. Google bills the ad budget to you directly, and the account stays in your name with Admin access for you.
Every campaign we build is set to bid for the result you pay for, a lead, a call or a sale, and we read each one back from the platform before it goes live. We are an independent agency based in Islamabad, Pakistan, working with clients in the US, UK, Australia and Pakistan.

Frequently asked questions
How much should I pay someone to manage my Google Ads?
Published retail prices checked on October 26, 2026 start at $499 a month plus 5 percent of ad spend at Third Marble in the US, £145 a month plus VAT at DPOM in the UK, $495 plus GST at Websites That Sell in Australia and PKR 35,000 at Softvirtue in Pakistan. Larger accounts pay more: Third Marble's plan for budgets up to $50,000 starts at $2,000 a month. The ad budget is paid to Google on top.
What percentage of ad spend do PPC agencies charge?
The 2026 cost guides we checked quote 10 to 20 percent of ad spend, usually with a minimum monthly fee. Credo's pricing guide, last updated in 2022, describes a different common model: a flat $1,000 to $2,000 a month per channel, with 15 percent added only on spend above $10,000 a month.
Is the Google Ads management fee separate from ad spend?
Yes. Google bills the ad spend to the payment method on the Google Ads account, and the agency bills its fee. Google's transparency rules for third parties say an agency that charges a management fee must tell new customers in writing before the first purchase and show the fee on every invoice.
Do Google Ads agencies charge setup fees?
Many do. Third Marble lists a $399 onboarding fee, DashClicks lists $199 per plan, and DPOM says a one-off setup fee can apply when a new account or conversion tracking has to be built. Credo's survey describes setup fees of $1,000 to $2,500 at agencies that include research, an audit and the first ads.
Is a percentage of ad spend or a flat fee better?
A flat fee is easier to budget and does not rise when you increase spend, which suits most small accounts. A percentage fee follows the size of the account but grows even when the work does not, so ask for a cap. Hybrid plans, such as a base fee plus 5 percent, sit in between.
Is paying for Google Ads management worth it?
It is worth it when the extra customers it brings cover the fee. Divide the monthly fee by your profit per customer: a $750 fee and $250 profit per job means three extra customers a month just to break even. If your budget is so small that the fee is half your ad spend or more, a simpler setup you run yourself may be better until the budget grows.
Who should own my Google Ads account?
You should. Keep Admin access to the Google Ads account and the payments profile in your own business's name, and let the agency link its manager account. Google says users with administrative access can end the link to a manager account at any time.
Does 1920 Agency publish prices for Google Ads management?
No. 1920 Agency quotes after reviewing your account, conversion tracking, landing pages and goals. Google bills your ad budget to you directly, and the account stays in your name.
